United Way Day of Caring

On September 15 a group of 16 Byron Center employees participated in the United Way’s annual Day of Caring.  Our project this year was at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Grand Rapids, where we helped them prepare for the upcoming Light the Night event.  Volunteer duties included preparing lanterns for the upcoming walk, and sorting supplies for the event.

After our volunteer work we were invited to a United Way luncheon held at a local park.  We had access to food trucks and entertainment.  As part of the event we also had the opportunity to donate to victims of Hurricane Harvey.  United Way and WZZM 13 partnered to collect items such as diapers, baby wipes, baby food/formula, first aid kits, and cleaning supplies.  G&T employees banded together to provide several items for the drive.
