Customers Endorse G&T Service Model

In 2011, G&T hired an outside Sales/Customer Service consultant to conduct a survey of Customers who were purchasing Foam Fabrication products/services across the country.  The feedback that we received from the resulting survey was concerning to us.  The consultant indicated that our ‘industry’ was being underserved in terms of both quality and service.

We immediately set our sights on being an exemplar for quality and service in our industry.  The quality system that we are using today (implemented in 2012) is an ISO compliant system that requires us to have individual team members doing quality frequency checks on all products going through individual processes/work stations at the plant locations (MI, IN, & PA).  This process fits very well with our ESOP model as each employee here is an owner so there is a direct impact on everyone if scrap or lost sales happen.  We track our quality PPM’s, customer complaints, & On time delivery statistics monthly and the Leadership Team/Operations Leadership review the results at our Monthly Business Reviews.  Also each operation does weekly quality/service reviews seeking corrective action to situations that may arise that either impacted a customer or were caught inside the facilities.

The increased process control and focus on these metrics has created a noticeable improvement in our quality and service.  G&T has recently won “supplier of the year” at some of our largest customers.
